College and Relationships

When you are around people for long periods of time, you tend to form this thing we humans call a "relationship." Whether it is considered positive or negative, relationships are formed. You see that a lot in college. We all come in one central location all linked by one common goal, to get a jump start on our futures. We all understand each others frustrations, pains, excitements, and goals even before the first hello is even muttered between two people. Of course, those things do have deeper meanings that make us all unique as individuals, but for the most part, it's that common foundation that form so many relationships. These relationships could be positive ones or negative... either way they are relationships bond by either love, hate, or annoyance.

Why am I thinking about this? I go to a very small college that is full of this stuff. With a student body of 700+ students, you tend to notice a lot of relationships, especially in the romantic category.

When I first went to college I was determined that God would have my soul mate waiting for me. I made it very evident to all the ladies of this college that I was available.  No luck. I was still single, and to make things even more worse it seems that all the good girls found themselves good guys that (I guess) where much better at wooing the female species then I was. Frustration begins to set in to my mind. I am still single, and now I have a group of girls that think I'm weird because I threw myself at them without restraint. I was a man ready to be married in a world full of woman not ready to marry me. I felt like this was God's joke in my life. I began to wonder if my love life was just one big mockery to God. I was fed up with it.

Then through a process of depression and hurt I began to realize the truth of it all. God wasn't mocking me... in fact He understands my needs better then I "know" my needs. I yelled at God for not knowing what love is about. I laugh at it know. I mean I was yelling at a Being who is literally love itself.

Now I end this post with some questions. If God is love (which literally means that whatever true love is that is God) then why do we feel as though we can make love happen on our own?

I Wanna Blog... Seriously!

If you guys followed me on my first blog then you remembered that I posted like.... never. I always made promises to myself and to my readers that I would blog x-amount of times a week, but I always end up breaking those promises. Why? Because I am unstable. I try to keep a steady pace and usually do very well in keeping it, then life happens... and well I stop blogging and start focusing on stuff like school work and the healthy habit I had of blogging ends because I lose a habit all together.

College can do that to you. It can consume you time and make you only focus on the loads of homework. That is why I am making a goal to blog at least two times a week. I do need to blog. I can not neglect my art. I can not neglect my passion... not anymore. It kills me that I haven't blogged in well over a year.

So without further I welcome you reader to my new and improved blog... enjoy my posts as I engage your mind with some thoughts of my own. as the title of my blog suggests, I am still processing this thing called life, and the one thing I have learned (if I had to sum up twenty years of education) is that life is short, but it is meant to lived on a grand scale. I'm sure my posts won't revolutionize the world, or even be published in volumes of books, but even if one person can know that I am just as messed up as they are, maybe just maybe they can realize the need of a perfect and complete God.
